इतिहास
History
Dating back to the *Dwapar Yuga*, Puranic texts record that when Lord Krishna manifested in Gokul, Shani Dev arrived to view him. Yashoda Maiya denied entry out of fear of Shani's harsh sight (*Vakra Drishti*). Shani Dev entered this forest and performed unmoving penance. Pleased, Krishna appeared inside the woods as a singing Cuckoo bird (*Kokila*), blessing Shani Dev that his sight would never harm a Krishna devotee in this forest.
